What is link building?

Link building is one of how your website or blog can be made available to the general public.

In practical terms, a link-building success is recorded when I get a sale from the advert of a building company I put up in 2013.

When you write engaging content that adds value and is evergreen, a client can see what was posted in January 2013, and you get a sale from it in May 2019.

This is a successful strategy using the art of link building.

An example of successful link building is guest posting or placing sponsored posts on websites.

It makes sense when the websites are not constantly changing their URLs. Digital footprints should be able to be found at any time and are mostly found even years after you posted them.

The internet never forgets. - Anonymous

When posting helpful information, the above truthful statement works for you. When you post 'fake news,' it could be your enemy, so be careful what you post.

Link building can open your business website or blog to new markets.

One of the tools by which you can spread your link is via social media platforms.

The popular ones are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram.

You can spread your links far and wide by using networking or social bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon, Digg, and Diigo.

Some of my favorite people to follow in 2014 were the following people.

Things changed quickly.

I don't regret the connections I made in that season, though, as they are a part of who I am and who I am becoming.

In 2014, my day was made only after I had read content from these three people.

They are amazing.

These were my favorite social media personalities in 2014.

One of my favorite authors online.

Activist and lecturer in a German University with over 100 000 followers on Twitter.

Toyin Fab: She's fantastic; you have to read the novella on her blog; she's a banker by day and a writer by night.

Others include:

The blogger who won that wedding competition years ago.

She also has a fantastic blog about Nigerian food.

I am a foodie!

The Amazing Tolu Ogunlesi

Brilliant Tolu Ogunlesi, a well-known journalist and blogger.

(For the Nigerian audience, even in the diaspora)

Some of the tips you can use to become famous on social media are:

Just do a guest post or a blog meme, and wham, you become a famous blogger or at least one that is known, depending on the success of your blog meme.

Ha ha. Not really!

The following tips help.

Simply pick a topic that resonates with everyone, and soon, people will be beating on your door to do business with you.

Success getting popular.

It must work, though, but keep working.

You will get there.

Sometimes you get a viral post, and sometimes you don't, but the process is always fun.

Let me know how the link-building is going for you.
