Tried and Tested Ways, Different Types of Businesses to Run in Nigeria
I am so proud of Nigerian women, men, boys and girls.
Things are so tough in Nigeria right now and although many are living beneath the poverty line (very sad) many are also starting businesses and creatively creating impossibilities by taking crisis and changing it into opportunity and I am so proud of them.
This is the Nigeria of my dreams. We are changing lemons into lemonade - good tasting lemonade. It is a very needed drink with the dry and sunny weather in November and onward.
I am the one in the middle of two of my sisters, 2012, Lagos, Nigeria. |
The story of my life
I spent most of my life before now as a baby girl. I only did the kind of jobs that made me happy and fulfilled me. I avoided some kind of jobs.
I can't do any job that appears to take advantage of other people. I was notorious for sending in my resignation letter in case a job violated my personal values. I gladly had my parents to pay the rent and take care of any other bills that may arise.
This has given me the advantage to try out many things, and start many different businesses, some succeeded, some failed, and some I simply killed the idea. From 2008 after speaking with some of my mentors in the banking, educational and Corporate Social responsibility sectors, I decided to stay true to the media and charity organizations.
There are challenges to working in Nigeria and creating your small business that is successful in Nigeria but I can teach you to be successful in the media and digital business sector in Nigeria.
